The UMS String Ensemble brings students who share the love of music together! We have one group that is open to everyone. Our group meets 2 days a week in the band room or gym. Performances are held throughout the school year for families, students, staff, friends, and the greater community! Please read below for information on String Ensemble before registering.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Wednesday : 7:30a - 8:25a Gym
Friday : 3:00p - 4:00p Bandroom
COMMUNICATION

GENERAL CHOIR CLUB INFORMATION
The UMS String Ensemble is a club comprised of violin, viola, cello, and bass players who perform at school concerts and outside venues.
We are an after school club under the direction of Mr. Joe Maguire 15 years as Mr. Kay's assistant
Our groups meet in the band room or gym. All members are required to bring their material (once provided) to every practice.
All students will perform at Union’s three music department concerts usually held in December, March, and May. If students are ready, they will also perform during Union’s fall concert in October (if held). These concerts are mandatory performances for our ensemble.
Our goal is to continue expanding our performance opportunities to include;
Community Performance TBD
CMEA Festival
Blossom Hill Festival
Students will have a strong presence of strictly orchestral pieces, and students can also expect to work on different
genres of music to expand and grow their love of music.
During practices, students are not permitted to use personal devices, including smart watches, except for at breaks, unless
permission is granted for extenuating circumstances.
